Merry Christmas!

It has been a busy past couple of days! Lots of shopping, wrapping, eating, and napping! We had such a wonderful Christmas with the Bressler and Klason families each!

Christmas Eve was with the Bressler side in which we had an ugly Tie (for the men) and ugly Broach (for the women) contest! Here is a picture of some of the winners:

Lots of food and family made for a great Christmas Eve before we depart for Italy!

Today on Christmas we had the Klason side over to the house for lunch and to have a belated celebration for my grandparents 65th Wedding Anniversary! My cousin even recreated their wedding cake and made a trivia game for the family to play.

Learned a lot about my grandparents and how they met/married. After the traditional chocolate chip pie made by grandma we are now all relaxing and digesting for the evening.

Still one more week here in MN and i can only hope for some snow before we  head to Indiana for more family time with the Osborns and Shivelys. Hope everyone had a fun, safe, and delicious holiday weekend!

Snow and some good news!

Well we finally got to see some snow here in this cold Minnesota weather! It was only a flurry but I was happy to see it. It just doesn't feel like Christmas without some of that white stuff. Also thanks to my Louisiana secretary Amy (thanks so much girl!), I found out that I received my CDA Credential... Now just to hear about grad school! Back to snuggling with my boys!

Im Dreaming of a White.....Brown Christmas?

Well we made it to Minnesota and so happy to be here. On Wednesday December14th, After the 6 hour some drive to Georgia I was a proud wife to watch Kyle graduate from school on Thursday!

After a couple nights of rest and a visit with some friends from Fort Polk, we got back on the road and continued our 12 hour journey to Indiana. After a couple of detours, luckily no car trouble, and a stop for dinner, we made it to Indiana at about 1:30AM on Saturday.

Kyle was happy to visit with Friends and his Dad's family for a couple of days before heading to Minnesota for the next two weeks.

And for those who were excited as I was I received a very very excited welcome from my four legged, furry friend, Tucker! He certainly remembered us after a month of not seeing Kyle and three weeks without me! I know he was well taken care of by 'Grandma and Grandpa' (A Million Thanks Ma and Pa) but I was thrilled to be reunited with him again!

Now here we are present day and getting settled into our temporary home for two weeks. We have some plans to meet up with old friends and just spend some quality time with my Family! The only thing we need now is some snow for Christmas and so we can enjoy those new snowmobiles that are still parked away in the garage!

A little behind

Well this is a low point in my blog vecause I haven't done much but job applications and checking the housing website in Italy for new posts! Not too exciting stuff. Yesterday was a highlight though. My sister, myself, and our friend went to Orlando to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure! It was AWESOME!! Mainly because I finally got to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!! Yes I know I'm a dork but a very happy dork! Here are a few pictures from our grand time we had... Or at least I did!

Keeping busy and Counting Down

Well here I am again just trying to keep busy waiting for Kyle's graduation and for our little family to be reunited again. You think I would be used to it by now except usually I have my furry sidekick... Roo is adjusting well so my parents say and I know he is probably just spoiled! He even got to meet another furry family member Meiko, my Aunt and Uncles Dog on his first night. I guess Meiko was a little scared of Tucker and didnt want to play but Tucker sure did try!
Today while my sister works I will go do a little retail therapy and christmas shopping. Maybe some more walks with Quincy and a bike ride or two....and just for those of you counting with me 11 more days til I head back to Georgia to see Kyle!
Off to the stores!

My own country song

Today I feel like and inspiration for a sad country song. I'm homeless. Unemployed. I had to say goodbye to my puppy Roo (for three weeks anyway). I haven't talked to my husband in two days... Ugh just feeling very blah today and stuck in limbo! One last pic of my elf

Also yes I am tracking my puppies flight! Wave hi to the puppy Kyle he is in the air right above you!

Update: Roo made it to MN and is happy to be with grandma and grandpa with tail wagging hard(apparently almost tipped his cage he was so excited) very happy news! Very worried mama today can now relax and go to bed!

Beauty Shop and Breakfast

Due to my laziness and lack of motivation we dropped off our furry friend to be pampered at the pet store. As it is we now have the morning/afternoon to wander around downtown Columbus GA! In true Kyle fashion we found a "greasy spoon" for some breakfast and are now Geocaching!
For those of you who are new to this phenomenon, Geocaching is an activity that can be done anywhere! Thanks to technology we have an app for that. Basically there are hidden treasures or 'caches' in which you are given land coordinates and hints to follow. They vary in size ranging from a butter tub to the harder size of a pencil eraser, hidden in everyday places. Each has a log for hunters to sign and date. To me this is the most interesting part because people from all over the states have come to these places so if you think about it these are historical time capsules. Anyway this is how we plan to spend some of our time in downtown as well as maybe hunting down a joint for Kyle to enjoy some football. Hope everyone had luck on black Friday and now may your credit cards rest and enjoy the weekend!

Here is an example of one of the caches we found... Tiny right!

Delivery!

Well my furry and pretty useless copilot are on the road again. Only a six hour drive today to Fort Benning to hand deliver my hubby his Thanksgiving feast! At least it is sunny today!

What I am thankful for: My husband for making me a stronger person and for loving me and my craziness through this moving process.
Mine and my families health and the opportunity to spend time with everyone.
All the love and support from our family and friends as we embark on our next adventure! Happy Turkey day everyone and don't forget your turkey pants

Here's Kyle enjoying his hand delivered Thanksgiving dinner in Georgia!

Turkey Pants

Well we made it to FL at about 3AM yesterday. Because of pure excitement and getting used to our temporary home (for the next three weeks anyway), Roo decided to whine for about 2 hours before being able to fall asleep. I am exhausted to say the least. I was able to get a short nap in before dinner last night: visiting my sister Ali's work at Selmon's Restaurant. Delicious Dinner! Thanks Sister.....but we never got our chocolate milk?

It is now 6am on Thanksgiving and yes we are awake again. I swear anything that goes on in this house Tucker can hear it and has to be a part of it. This morning he is watching Grandpa aka my dad stuff the turkey! Today we are having a Thanksgiving lunch so that we will get to see Kyle!! He has been given some time off til Sunday and Roo and I (more Me I think) are so excited to go see him up in Georgia, maybe we will get some Christmas shopping done on black friday too.

Back to playing with the Roo while he waits for cousin Quincy to wake up and play!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and don't forget your Turkey Pants!

Snuggles on the air mattress

This was how most of our weekend was spent....

I think Tucker was feeling the same way I was this weekend, just exhausted and somewhat lost...I am temporarily homeless but am feeling very lost today and I think it is reflecting on Roo. He is very snuggly and keeps following me everywhere....On to bigger and better things right?
Last day of work tomorrow: Bittersweet.

Slight relief

Got this email this am... One less this to worry about I at least got everything turned in!

Life in a box

Well we are all boxed up... 90 boxes total not including our furniture...

Did I forget something?

Well I have been preparing for tomorrow for months now but I still feel unprepared. It is hard to sort what you will need in the next month and a half and pack it into two suitcases, what we will need for the first shipment we will receive (think necessary things to live with), and what can just be shipped and we can wait to receive. Now imagine the army having strict rules and weight limits as to what items can and can't be shipped as well as which shipment each item is allowed to be packed in.....can you say pressure major!! I think/ hope I have all the necessary documentation that we have to have but the list just keeps growing....and after everything is packed up and picked up, there is no going back. If it isn't set aside now then we won't see it for 2+ months! Any one else that has done a major move with the military (sorry civilians things are run very different with this move) understands my nerves as well. The thought of who the army picked to move us will be coming into our home and packing away our ENTIRE LIFE into an estimate 7,000 pounds of boxes....I just hope they are gently with me, this is my first time! It's getting late so back to my never ending checklists! Wish me luck
