Today we took tours of some Vicenza sites: Teatro Olimpico, Museo Naturalistico, and the Gallerie di Palazzo Leoni Montanari. We also toured Il Cryptico Romano Di Piazza Duomo. This was a very old underground porch that was discovered under a house back in the fifties. Unfortunately they didn't allow pictures but of the entrance. We recommend any visitors to go see this site. 6m below the current ground level is where underground was 2000 years ago....so roughly Vicenza has been built up 3m every 1000 years! The history of this place is the most shocking and enjoyable to learn about!
Enjoy pictures of the Teatro Olimpico as it was our favorite part of today! The frescos are beautiful as is the amazing structure in itself.
On our way back we stopped and did some shopping at the local la botega and picked up some mozzarella de bufalo. The best in Italy we have been told, it's sure went well with our fresh bread from the street market and some salami! Here was Kyles other taste test from la botega... The name did not deter him from it and he claims it's not bad.
Hey you---looking gorgeous over there and I can imagine it's an experience. I'd seen your blog posted via FB and Heather had told me via texting. If you're into "tag games," you're listed on the post on my page. Sorry to hear about the crazy housing situation over there!!!
